THE BLACK GROUSE ALPHA EDITION

SETS SAIL IN NORDIC REGION

The Black Grouse - Alpha Edition, which was previewed in September 2011 at TFWA World Exhibition, will be listed on-board ferry lines in the Nordic region and at several airports in Russia from May. The new smoky blended Scotch whisky, which will be available exclusively in travel retail until September 2012, will shortly appear onboard Scandlines, Birka Eckero Line and Tallink Silja and in the AerRianta duty free stores at Pulkovo Saint Petersburg and Moscow Sheremetyevo Airports. The Black Grouse – Alpha Edition is a richer, smokier expression of the award winning The Black Grouse and is created by blending a greater concentration of aged, peaty malt whiskies, to achieve a fuller, richer whisky. The black grouse, celebrated by this special bottling, is a rare and charismatic bird that is native to the Scottish Highlands. During the mating season the black grouse demonstrates flamboyance and machismo to establish himself as the alpha male. These two sides of his character inspired the Alpha Edition, a perfectly balanced and rare blend that is flamboyantly rich and sweet at first taste before layers of smoke are revealed. The Black Grouse - Alpha Edition is presented in a stunning pack showing a male black grouse in full display during the mating season as he embarks on his mission to become the alpha male. The bottle is also adorned by a beautiful iridescent black feather.

SATURDAY28 APRIL; we were on the tail end of a whisky tour with our Dutch friends, we called into Glenturret, just before our tour we cracked open another bottle of the Alpha, all gave it the yes vote!
